Jiu Jitsu: Master The Gentle Art
Beyond Technique: Build Confidence
Jiu Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), is a grappling martial art that uses leverage, technique, and timing to overcome a larger opponent. Unlike striking arts, it focuses on taking down your opponent and controlling them on the ground, allowing you to defend yourself regardless of size or strength.
This makes it a perfect choice for anyone looking for a practical self-defense system or a challenging workout. BJJ builds confidence, improves fitness, and teaches valuable problem-solving skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you’re looking for self-defense skills, a great workout, or a new community, it has something to offer everyone.
If you are interested in joining our BJJ classes, please contact us today to schedule a free trial lesson. You will need to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as a t-shirt and pants or shorts. We look forward to welcoming you to our martial arts community and sharing our love for training with you.

BJJ prioritizes safety through the “tap-out” system, where practitioners signal submission to prevent injuries. This emphasis on skill over strength allows anyone, regardless of size, to learn effective control techniques. By utilizing leverage and strategy, practitioners can safely hone real-world combat skills without sacrificing their well-being. Our community takes pride in prioritizing safety while fostering effective training.
Absolutely! Most of our students come in with zero experience. We understand feeling nervous when trying something new. Our instructors and classmates are all super welcoming – they’ve all been beginners too! We’re passionate about helping new students embark on their BJJ journey, all the way to black belt and beyond (if that’s your goal!).
While rooted in self-defense, Jiu-Jitsu also has a thriving competitive scene. Some students choose to compete, using the experience to push their skills and boost their overall well-being.
As a beginner, your starting point will be the fundamentals of self-defense. Once you have a solid foundation, you can decide if you’d like to explore the competitive side further.
